I'm just finishing my first ever completed knitting project now, so I'm a newcomer to the joy that is knitting, too. . . . Of course, I'm just doing a scarf, which is rather simplistic, but still. It's a /nice/ scarf. And way too long because I had yarn left and decided to keep going. Nothing wrong with super-long scarfs! What are you knitting?
Nothing yet, just taking baby steps. Yes, you can think about the movie "What About Bob?" I have be scared to learn since childhood and cringe at the thought of knitting; I rather talk with my hands, I sign in American and Tamil sign language. If I can take more baby steps and Laura can keep being patience the plan is for a dishcloth. It fits in with my goal to get away from store brought cleaning products. If, if, if.....breathe...baby steps... Peace, Aunt B.
Oooh how exciting! You're going to love knitting! I have been knitting since I was about 13 and I do some every day, I enjoy it so much! For some great tips and help videos, go to www.knittinghelp.com. It's helped me out a few times!
Jenny, thanks the blogworld among you ladies seems pleasant and a wonderful way to connect over the miles. Tina, I like your passion, my daughter, Laura shares your love of yarn and has wanted me try for years. In the past I always given the excuse that I was too busy, I've been a mother to 15 children over the last 3 and a half years. Two homegrown, four exchange students, and nine foster children, so my household been anywhere from three to eleven. Now with just the three of us I'm trying all kinds of new things; blogging, knitting, baking bread, new houseplants, and new recipes in the kitchen. Also trying out making and using homemade cleaning and personal care products is filling my day. As you can see I'm in a new season of my life and I'm enjoying it so far. The last of the foster kids lefted in October, after a time of griving, I started in January with lots of new beginnings. Sorry I didn't mean to go on so much. I just found your blog yesterday and I look forward to getting to know you through your blog. Peace, Carolyn
Carolyn, I think it is wonderful that you have embraced this new chapter in your life...how inspiring you are! I can't wait to read about all the wonderful things you will be doing! Thank you for visiting my blog.
God Bless, love, Tina :)
PS. How wonderful that you have raised so many children! :)
Just last night I began the exact same thing, casting on!!! here I am this morning and find a fellow lady beginner at the brink of the art of knitting. Hoorah for us :)
I imagined I would begin with a scarf but instead I think I'm going to be doing tension squares for practice :) before I feel confident to move onto a project.
I am a wife and mother. I enjoy homemaking and caring for my houseplants, flowers, and garden. Cooking, baking, and learning new skills fill my days. My desire is to live a simple life, a radical life.
